SARA BANGLA DABA SANGSTHA along with EVENTZ WORLDWIDE, are going to launch the Premier Chess League-Bengal Chapter from 10th June, 2023. This grand event will be first of its kind in the history of chess in West Bengal. Arjun awardee Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua will be seen in a new role - the Chairman of the organising committee and Grandmaster Surya Sekhar Ganguly is the Brand Ambassador of this mega event. The tournament will be held in two phases. In the first phase, we have divided 23 districts into 6 zones, namely A to E Zones. On the basis of the final ranking, 10 players from each zone will qualify to represent their zone in the final phase, which will be a Team Event and will be held in Kolkata on 12-13 August, 2023. There will be a two days tournament in each zone in rapid and blitz format and the prize money is Rs. 1 lakh in the first phase. 6 teams will play among themselves and 4 teams will qualify for the semi final and final rounds. Total prize money for the Final phase is Rs. 3 lakhs. Our motto is to spread this royal game in the rural areas and we are confident that this unique tournament will generate huge interest in the young minds of West Bengal.
